Used Long-Reach Excavators for Sale
Long-reach (also called extended-reach or super-long-front) excavators replace standard booms with extended versions reaching 18-30 meters. The only practical tool for canal dredging, riverbank work, and tall demolition.

Long-reach configurations sacrifice digging force and bucket capacity for reach. A typical 35-ton long-reach excavator might have a 20-meter reach but only a 0.6-0.8 m³ bucket (versus 1.4-1.8 m³ on a standard boom). Production rates per hour are correspondingly lower.
The application set is narrow but indispensable: canal and waterway dredging, riverbank cleaning, tall demolition (4-6 story buildings without scaffolding), and any work where the machine cannot get close to what it is excavating.
Used long-reach machines often start life as standard configurations and are retrofitted with extended booms by specialist shops. When buying used, always verify whether the long-reach attachment is factory-original or aftermarket — aftermarket conversions vary in quality.
