Mini excavators and most classe 20 tonnes machines fit in a standard 40HQ container with the boom removed and lashed. Conteneur shipping is the most economical method for these sizes — typically $1,200-2,500 to most major destinations. Conteneur loading takes 4-8 hours at the yard or port; reassembly at destination 4-8 hours.

For 25+ tonne machines, Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) cargo ships are the standard solution. The machine drives onto the vessel at the port sur loading and drives off at the destination. RoRo typically costs $2,000-5,000 to major destinations and requires no disassembly. Common RoRo routes: Shanghai/Tianjin → Lagos, Mombasa, Manila, Jakarta, Jebel Ali, Callao, Vladivostok.

Mining-class excavators above 50 tonnes ship as deck cargo on break-bulk vessels — loaded by shore crane onto the deck sur a general cargo ship and secured for the voyage. Slower (4-6 week voyages typical) and more expensive ($5,000-15,000+) but the only viable option above ~38 tonnes.

Commercial Invoice (CI), Packing List (PL), Bill sur Lading (B/L), Certificate sur Origin (CO from CCPIT), pre-shipment inspection reports if required (SGS/BV/Intertek/Cotecna), and any market-specific certificates (SONCAP, SABER, PVoC). Tout in English; Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, and Russian translations available on request.

EXW (yard, Chine) — you handle toutes logistics. FOB (Chine port) — we handle inland Chine; you handle ocean freight and destination. CIF (your port) — we handle inland + ocean freight + insurance to destination port. CIF is our most common arrangement.
