Is a used Caterpillar excavator in stock right now?
Used Caterpillar excavators are sourced continuously by ExcaYard, but exact live stock changes daily. The most reliable way to confirm current availability is to send your required model, year range and destination to our export desk on WhatsApp +86 193 9277 7259. We will reply with the machines that match your specification and their inspection status.
How ExcaYard Sources Used Caterpillar Excavators
ExcaYard is a China used excavator export specialist based in Hefei, Anhui. We source, inspect and ship pre-owned Caterpillar machines alongside Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Doosan, Hyundai, Kobelco, Sany, XCMG, SDLG, LiuGong and Sunward units to buyers worldwide. Because we work from a network of domestic suppliers rather than a single fixed yard, stock rotates frequently. A model that is unavailable today may be sourced within days, and a machine that is available today may be reserved by another buyer. This is why we do not publish a static stock list; instead, we match each enquiry to the machines currently passing through our inspection process. If you need a specific configuration, tell us the model, preferred year range, working hours and any attachment requirements. We will then confirm what is physically available, what is in transit to our inspection point, and what can be sourced on request.
Condition and the 150-Point Pre-Shipment Inspection
Every used Caterpillar excavator we offer goes through a 150-point pre-shipment inspection before it is loaded. This is not a cosmetic check. It covers the engine, hydraulics, undercarriage, swing system, electronics, cooling system, cab and safety items. We verify the hour meter reading and use paint-thickness checks to help identify previous panel repair or repainting. The inspection is documented with photos and video, which we share with you before shipment. If a machine has a known issue, we disclose it and can quote repair or replacement parts where practical. For buyers who cannot travel to China, this documentation is the primary way to assess condition remotely. You can review current machine listings and inspection examples on our machines page.
Documents and Certifications for Import
Export documentation is handled by our team. The standard set includes a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Depending on your destination, we also arrange conformity certifications: SONCAP for Nigeria, SABER for Saudi Arabia, PVoC for Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana, GSA for Ghana, and KEBS where applicable. These certificates are issued through accredited agencies and are required for customs clearance in the respective countries. We will confirm which certification applies to your port before shipment so that there are no surprises at destination. If you are comparing models, our guide on Cat 320 vs Komatsu PC200 may help you decide which machine suits your work.
Payment Terms
We accept T/T USD wire transfers and L/C through Bank of China. Wise is also available for eligible transactions. For T/T, the usual structure is a deposit to reserve the machine and the balance before shipment or against the bill of lading, depending on the agreement. L/C terms are handled through Bank of China and must be confirmed before the order is finalised. If you want to hold a specific excavator while you arrange payment, ask about our reservation process; details are explained in our guide on reserving an excavator with a deposit.
Shipping Methods and Lead Time
We ship FOB or CIF from default ports Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao and Tianjin. Three shipping methods are available: RoRo, container and flat-rack. RoRo is often the most economical for a complete machine that can be driven on and off the vessel. Container shipping is suitable for smaller machines or when you want the unit fully enclosed. Flat-rack is used for larger excavators or when RoRo space is unavailable. Typical CIF lead time is 28-45 days port-to-port, though this can vary with vessel schedules, port congestion and certification processing. The table below summarises the main factors that affect shipping and total cost.
| Factor | Typical options | Indicative impact on cost or timing |
|---|---|---|
| Shipping method | RoRo, container, flat-rack | RoRo is typically lower cost for complete machines; container and flat-rack may cost more but offer different protection or size options. |
| Incoterm | FOB or CIF | FOB gives you control of freight; CIF includes freight and insurance to your port. |
| Port of loading | Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Tianjin | Choice depends on machine location and vessel schedule; inland transport to port may affect timing. |
| Destination and certification | SONCAP, SABER, PVoC, GSA, KEBS | Certification processing can add days before shipment; destination port charges are separate. |
| Machine size and weight | Mini to large excavators | Heavier units may require flat-rack or breakbulk and can affect freight cost. |
Lead Time and Availability
From confirmed order to departure, typical lead time is 28-45 days port-to-port for CIF shipments. This includes inspection, documentation, certification where required, and vessel booking. If a machine is already in stock and inspection is complete, the process can move faster. If we need to source a specific model, add roughly one to three weeks for procurement and inspection. We recommend starting your enquiry at least six to eight weeks before you need the machine on site, especially if certification is required. Stock is not guaranteed until a deposit is received, so if you see a machine that fits your needs, ask us to hold it while you finalise payment.
