How much does shipping a used excavator cost?
Shipping cost depends on machine size, destination route, and method — container, RoRo, or flat-rack. We itemize freight separately from the machine price and quote the exact figure once we know the machine and destination.
What decides the freight
- Machine size and tonnage — a mini fits a container; a 20-ton machine ships container, flat-rack, or RoRo; a 30–50 t heavy machine usually needs RoRo or breakbulk.
- Route — nearby Southeast Asia (Vietnam 8–15 days, Indonesia 14–20) is cheaper and faster than Africa (Mombasa 28–32, Lagos 32–38) or Latin America.
- Method — RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) is often cheapest for tracked machines; container or flat-rack is used when you want added protection or shared space.
How we quote it
Freight is always itemized separately from the machine price, so you can see exactly what you're paying for the machine versus the move. Send us the machine and destination port and we return a FOB and a CIF figure side by side.
What is RoRo shipping?
Roll-on/roll-off — the excavator is driven onto a vessel deck and secured, then driven off at destination. It is often the lowest-cost method for tracked machines, e.g. Vladivostok in 7–10 days.
Can I share a container to save freight?
Yes — a 20-ft container fits 1–2 mini excavators or one midi unit, splitting the freight across units.
Is insurance included in freight?
On a CIF quote, marine insurance is included. On FOB you can add it separately — we arrange it on request.
