What condition are your used 20-ton excavators in?
ExcaYard supplies used 20-ton excavators that are sourced, inspected, and shipped from China. Every machine undergoes a 150-point pre-shipment inspection with photos and video, including hours verification and paint-thickness checks. Condition grades vary by unit, but all are pre-owned machines prepared for export.
How We Define Condition
Used 20-ton excavators from ExcaYard are pre-owned machines, typically from major brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Doosan, Hyundai, Kobelco, Sany, XCMG, SDLG, LiuGong, and Sunward. Because we source from multiple channels, condition is assessed individually. We do not sell new machines, and we do not claim that any used unit is in new condition. Instead, we provide a transparent report so you can judge fitness for your application.
The 150-point inspection covers structural integrity, hydraulic performance, engine condition, undercarriage wear, electrical systems, and safety features. We verify working hours and use paint-thickness checks to help identify prior repainting or body repairs. Photos and video are taken during the inspection and shared with you before shipment. This is not a certificate of like-new quality; it is a factual record of the machine's state at the time of inspection.
What the 150-Point Inspection Includes
The inspection is a structured checklist. While the exact items depend on the machine model, the following areas are always reviewed:
- Engine and powertrain: start-up behaviour, exhaust colour, oil condition, coolant, belts, hoses, and any leaks.
- Hydraulics: pump pressure, cylinder operation, hose condition, control valve response, and swing function.
- Undercarriage: track shoe wear, chain and sprocket condition, idler and roller play, and track tension.
- Structure: boom, arm, bucket, cab, and counterweight for cracks, welds, or deformation. Paint-thickness readings help flag previous repairs.
- Electrics and controls: gauges, warning lights, joystick response, and safety interlocks.
- Hours verification: we cross-check the hour meter against service records where available and note any discrepancy.
After the inspection, you receive a photo and video package. If you need a sample report before committing, you can request one through our inspection report page.
Condition Grades and Typical Price Factors
We do not use fixed letter grades because each machine is unique. However, the following factors typically influence the condition and the indicative price range of a used 20-ton excavator. The table below shows common factors, not exact stock numbers.
| Factor | What It Means | Typical Impact on Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Year of manufacture | Older machines may have more wear | Newer units typically show less structural fatigue |
| Working hours | Verified hours from meter and records | Lower hours often mean less component wear |
| Undercarriage wear | Track, sprocket, and roller condition | Heavy wear may require replacement soon |
| Hydraulic system | Pump, cylinders, and hoses | Leaks or weak pressure reduce performance |
| Paint and body | Paint thickness and repaint evidence | Repaints may hide repairs; we report findings |
| Service history | Records of maintenance | Documented service typically supports better condition |

Documents and Certifications
Every export shipment includes a commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, and certificate of origin. Depending on your country, we can also handle export certifications such as SONCAP for Nigeria, SABER for Saudi Arabia, PVoC for Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana, GSA for Ghana, and KEBS. These certifications are processed according to the destination's import rules. We do not invent certificates or guarantee that a specific certificate will be issued without the required inspections and fees. We coordinate with accredited agencies to obtain the correct documents for your shipment.
Payment, Shipping, and Lead Time
We accept T/T USD wire transfers, L/C through Bank of China, and Wise. Payment terms are agreed before shipment. For shipping, we offer FOB or CIF terms. Machines can be shipped via RoRo, container, or flat-rack, depending on size and destination. Default ports of loading are Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, and Tianjin. Typical CIF lead time is 28-45 days port-to-port, though this can vary with vessel schedules and customs clearance. We serve Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and the CIS.

Frequently asked questions
Are your used 20-ton excavators ready to work immediately?
They are pre-owned machines that have passed a 150-point inspection. Most are operational, but some may need minor repairs or servicing depending on age and wear. The inspection report shows the actual condition.
Can I see photos and video before buying?
Yes. We provide photos and video from the inspection. You can also request a sample inspection report before placing a deposit.
Do you provide any warranty?
We do not offer a standard warranty on used machines. The 150-point inspection is our quality check, and we disclose findings honestly. Any warranty would be agreed separately in writing.
