What condition are your used Hitachi excavators in?
Used Hitachi excavators from ExcaYard are sourced, inspected, and shipped in verified working condition, with a 150-point pre-shipment inspection that includes photos, video, hour meter verification, and paint-thickness checks. We do not sell machines with hidden structural damage or non-functional major components. Every unit is prepared for export and comes with full documentation for your destination country.
How We Define Condition
Condition is assessed across key systems: engine, hydraulics, undercarriage, swing, electronics, and structural integrity. We classify machines into three practical grades:
- Excellent: Low hours for age, minimal wear, original paint with no major repairs, fully functional all systems.
- Good: Normal working hours, some component wear (e.g., tracks, bucket), no major mechanical issues, ready for immediate use.
- Fair: Higher hours or cosmetic wear, but mechanically sound and fully operational; priced for budget-conscious buyers.
We do not sell “as-is” junk. Every Hitachi excavator is run-tested and inspected before listing. If a machine has a known issue, we disclose it and price accordingly.
The 150-Point Pre-Shipment Inspection
Before shipment, each Hitachi excavator undergoes a 150-point inspection. This covers:
- Engine: Cold start, exhaust color, oil pressure, coolant condition, leaks, belt tension, turbo function.
- Hydraulics: Pump pressure, cylinder drift, hose condition, control valve response, swing motor, travel motor.
- Undercarriage: Track tension, link wear, sprocket teeth, idler and roller condition, track shoe thickness.
- Structure: Boom, arm, bucket, frame for cracks, welds, or repairs; paint thickness checked to detect hidden body filler.
- Electronics: Monitor, sensors, wiring, lights, safety alarms.
- Function test: All controls, travel, swing, boom, arm, bucket, auxiliary lines.
We provide a detailed photo and video report, including hour meter reading and paint-thickness readings. This gives you a transparent view before you commit. You can also visit the yard to inspect in person.

Shipping Methods and Lead Time
We ship FOB or CIF from default ports: Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, Tianjin. Methods:
- RoRo – roll-on/roll-off, ideal for larger excavators that can be driven.
- Container – for smaller machines (e.g., mini excavators) or when flat-rack not available.
- Flat-rack – for machines that fit but need crane loading.
Typical CIF lead time is 28–45 days port-to-port, depending on destination and vessel schedule. We provide tracking and updates.
