Kazakhstan, like Russia, has shifted heavily to Chinese excavator brands post-2022. Minières (uranium, copper, coal) drives demand for 30+ tonne machines. The Karaganda industrial region, Aktobe, and the southern Almaty region are the main demand centers.
Logistics differ from other markets: most Kazakhstan imports come overland by rail from Xinjiang via the Khorgos border crossing, not by sea. Rail transit takes 7-10 days from Urumqi to Almaty, with onward distribution by truck.
