Why Egypt imports the way it does.
Egypt is in a major infrastructure renewal cycle: the New Administrative Capital outside Cairo, the Suez Canal Economic Zone development, the Grand Egyptian Museum complex, and a national highway expansion. All create sustained demand for used excavators in the 20-35 ton class.
GOEIC (General Organization for Export & Import Control) inspection is mandatory for used machinery. The ACID (Advance Cargo Information Declaration) system requires 48-hour advance notification before vessel arrival. We coordinate this.
Letter of Credit (LC at sight) is the more common payment method for Egypt imports than TT, due to currency controls. We accept both. Customs clearance at Alexandria is typically 10-20 days.
