XCMG is particularly strong in the large and mining excavator classes — the XE700 and XE1300 mining machines are increasingly seen in iron ore and coal operations from Russia to Africa.

On the used market, XCMG availability is more sporadic than Sany (XCMG sells more new through long-term mining contracts and fewer units flow back to the used market), but when available, the heavy-duty XE-series machines offer compelling value.

Like Sany, XCMG uses internationally-sourced critical components (engines, hydraulics) on a Chinese-built chassis. Build quality has improved dramatically since 2018.
