Used Medium Excavators for Sale — 8 to 25 Ton
The 8-25 ton class is the global volume segment — the Cat 320, Komatsu PC200, Hitachi ZX200, and their peers are the backbone of construction sites from Lagos to Lima. We maintain the deepest inventory in this class because demand is highest.

The 20-ton segment specifically (Cat 320, Komatsu PC200, Hitachi ZX200, Volvo EC210, Kobelco SK200) is the single most-traded used excavator class in the world. Parts are everywhere, every dealer supports them, and operators on every continent already know how to run them. For first-time buyers and fleet expansions alike, a 20-ton machine is almost always the right starting point.
In the 8-25 ton range you should expect operating hours of 3,000-10,000 on a used machine. Below 3,000 hours commands a premium (the machine is essentially mid-life); above 10,000 hours starts requiring budget for upcoming major service intervals (undercarriage, swing bearing, hydraulic pump rebuild).
For export markets, the medium class is also the most container-friendly for the upper-bound machines: units up to about 22 tons can be shipped in a 40HQ container with the boom removed. Above 22 tons, RoRo becomes the better economic choice.

Запросить ценуFrequently Asked Questions
Is a 20 ton excavator too big for my project? +
For most general construction the 20-ton class is the sweet spot. If you mostly work in tight urban sites or do landscaping, consider stepping down to 13-15 ton. For dedicated mining or quarry, step up to 30+ ton.
How much fuel does a medium excavator burn per hour? +
Typically 15-22 liters/hour depending on load factor. Volvo and Komatsu units tend to be 5-10% more fuel-efficient than equivalent Cat or Hitachi.
Should I buy Japanese or Chinese brand in this class? +
Depends on budget and parts support in your country. Japanese machines (Komatsu, Hitachi) retain value better and have universal parts availability. Chinese machines (Sany, XCMG) are 30-40% cheaper and offer equal mechanical performance, but parts availability outside major markets may be limited.
